As Zoe worked late shifts as a busy nurse, she depended on Denise, her mother-in-law, to watch her son Leo. Leo, however, clings to Zoe and hides when Denise shows around because he has recently started to fear his grandmother’s visits. Zoe was taken aback when he finally revealed the reason: Denise had been using a cotton swab to gather his saliva and had been following him as he prepared to test his DNA. Why? Leo’s golden hair made Denise question his paternity.
Infuriated, Zoe went to Denise, who validated her suspicions. Zoe’s husband, Andrew, proposed a DNA test as a solution, but Zoe included a caveat:
Andrew ought to have his DNA tested as well. When the results came in, it was shocking to learn that Andrew was not Leo’s biological son, even though Leo’s fatherhood had been established. Stunned by the revelation, Andrew cut ties with Denise, who had confessed to an affair years earlier.
