Like many kids who feel different, Avery experienced harassment at school. To cope, he turned to music and began learning the saxophone. In the words of Simon Cowell, “You decided to take something to take your mind away from all those horrible people, and it was the saxophone.”
Even as he prepared for his AGT audition, the road wasn’t smooth—neighbors in his apartment complex called the police, complaining about the noise as he practiced!
