From Tattoo Artist to ‘Super Dad’: How One Man Reshaped His Face and Life to Make His Son’s Dream Come True

Henry Rodríguez, a Venezuelan tattoo artist and devoted father, has undergone a truly extraordinary transformation, spending around £27,000 (approximately $34,000) across 15 procedures to embody a superhero for his young son’s admiration.

Driven by his son’s love for fictional heroes, Henry took jaw-dropping steps: he tattooed his face and eyes, removed portions of his ears and nose, and added implants to his forehead to achieve an otherworldly look. The aim was simple yet profound: “I want him to see a superhero when he looks at me,” he shared.

His most radical decision was the partial removal of his nose—a surgical move usually reserved for extreme medical conditions, mirroring the skeletal visage of a comic-book figure.

He also had scleral eye tattoos—an especially risky procedure that permanently changed the appearance of his eyes.

Despite the physical pain and global attention—ranging from awe to criticism—Henry stands by his choice. He sees it as a powerful act of love and self-expression: “I want him to see more than his dad.” Looking ahead, he says if his son wishes similar body modifications someday, he’d caution him to take time and know exactly what he wants.
