America’s Got Talent has unearthed yet another exceptional talent.
Angelica Hale, nine, has been through more in her short life than many of us will in our lifetimes. When Hale was just four years old, she acquired an aggressive strep infection in her lungs, resulting in double pneumonia, septic shock, and organ failure.
Hale was hospitalized for 80 days, received many blood and platelet transfusions, and had a kidney transplant before the age of 7.
Angelica started singing classes to distract herself from the healing process, and her ability blossomed. After winning her first singing competition, she chose to pursue a career as a performer and has never looked back.

Angelica, now nearly 10, wanted to compete on her largest platform yet, AGT. She selected a fantastic song by the legendary Alicia Keys that utterly floored the judges, especially guest judge Chris Hardwick.
“I’m so blown away because you walk out with these sneakers on, and you look like an adorable little child, and then you open your mouth, and it’s like, how do those pipes fit in that tiny body?” he said as Angelica giggled after her performance. “Angelica…I feel like,” he remarked after a long pause and shouts from the audience. “You are the chosen one!”
After a brief pause—obviously for suspense—Hardwick leaned over and crushed the coveted Golden Buzzer, sending Hale directly to the live rounds of the program. Watch the fantastic performance in the video below!
