Her biggest moment in the main game came with the final puzzle, “A Tough Nut To Crack.” Solving it secured her place in the Bonus Round.
By that point, Rood had accumulated $20,650 in cash and prizes, while her competitors finished the main game with lower totals.

She Chose “Around the House”
For the Bonus Round, Rood selected the category “Around the House.”
Her husband, Mark, and daughter, Molly, were there to support her on stage as the final puzzle appeared.
As always, the standard letters R, S, T, L, N and E were automatically provided. Rood then selected M, V, K and A as her additional letters.
The board changed to:
