Users thought Jennifer Hudson “went bald” after American Music Awards

This past weekend, Jennifer Hudson wowed the crowd at the American Music Awards 50th Anniversary special. Despite her amazing vocal performance, her haircut seemed to be the main conversation starter.

The American Music Awards celebrated their fiftieth anniversary on Sunday, October 6, with performances by legendary performers like Mariah Carey, Nelly, and Nile Rogers.

Fans were baffled as to why no contemporary musicians received recognition at the ceremony, and this was a major topic of conversation around the event. The straightforward response to that is that the regular AMAs have been postponed until March 2025. Naturally, fans may recall that Hudson really had a bald appearance in 2015. The singer at the time uploaded a selfie to Instagram with her hair pulled back and wrote, “Who needs hair, when u serving face!” as the caption.

It goes without saying that Hudson’s performance of the Whitney Houston song “I Will Always Love You” at the 1992 film The Bodyguard ought to have been the main topic of conversation during her presence at the Academy Awards.

When asked about her relationship to the late Whitney Houston, Hudson said, “What is my connection to Whitney Houston?,” before to her incredible performance. The gospel, you know, the presence, is a gift, in my opinion. I was just struck by it at a young age. I doubt that there was ever a moment when I was unaware of Whitney.”
