He had always worn his hair long. It was thick, a little messy, and reached past his shoulders. It gave him a relaxed, artistic look that some people admired. Still, it also came with constant comments and questions about when he’d “finally cut it,” and the occasional mix-up from strangers who thought he was someone else entirely.
But he didn’t mind. For a while, the long hair felt like a part of him. Until it didn’t.
